Optimal Handed Care

Alex Hadayah, Lead Therapist East London NHS Foundation Trust and Michael Shaw, Deputy Head of Therapies (The Royal London Hospital) have kindly offered to present their work on Optimal handed care. Hear how an acute and community health care systems are working together to improve discharge and provide optimal care packages in the community.

This work has now developed into a system wide quality improvement project. Alex and Mike will share the impact of working collaboratively, reducing risk aversion, developing working knowledge of services to support the safe discharge of patients into their own homes. The aim of the project is to reduce care package provision in the community looking at the cultural over prescription of equipment. Aiming to improve patient flow, improve discharges and care package provision.
