Introduction to Model Health System: Overview and Improvement

6 November 2024 10:00am – 11:30amGMT (+00:00)
Virtual (Microsoft Teams)

To further support our systems to develop the productivity and efficiency-related elements of their 2024-25 operating plans, the North East & Yorkshire Regional Team will be holding a series of introductory session on the Model Health System.

Model Health System is a data-driven improvement tool which allows health and care systems and organisations to benchmark their performance across a range of service-related indicators against a that of a comparable peer group. It allows NHS leaders to identify unwarranted variation within their system and rapidly narrow the focus of work to identify further opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency at a system and / or organisational level. The Model Health System incorporates the Model Hospital, which provides hospital provider-level benchmarking. Access to the Model Health System is currently available for all NHS commissioners and providers in England.

This session is aimed at ICBs and providers and will give an introductory overview to the Model Health System and how this can be used for Improvement but is also open to colleagues who may be using the system already and who have further questions about specific aspects of its functionality.
