SW GP Standardised Website Webinar (2)

South West GP Standardised Website Expressions of Interest webinar - presented by the South West Digital Transformation Team.

The GP Standardised website  project is part of the Primary Care Digital Experience Programme (PCDE) (South West) which is designed to transform the human experience of primary care processes, enabled by the best use of digital technology and data, in alignment with the Long-Term Workforce Plan 2023 (LTWP) and the Delivery Plan for Recovering Access to Primary Care 2023.

The GP standardised website template fulfils the requirements outlined in the Delivery Plan for Recovering Access to Primary Care, by supporting the Implementation of Modern General Practice Access to tackle the 8am rush, provide rapid assessment and response, and avoid asking patients to ring back another day to book an appointment.

The rationale for designing and building a new template is to ensure the following are standardised across a wide sample of GP Practice in the South West region, encouraging further spread to remaining Practices:

  • Commitment to Accessibility: We have achieved a WCAG12 AA rating for the new website template, that will work on the most commonly used assistive technologies.
  • The website is part of the delivery / implementation of the Modern General Practice Access Model.
  • Compliance with GP Contract regulations 2024/5, and the GP Website Benchmarking Tool.
  • Patient experience improved – from reassurance of NHS identity to navigation and self-service making it more likely they will return and use digital channels.
  • NHS design components including logo and NHS domain.
  • Website designed with a ‘mobile first’ approach.
