The Experience and Partnerships Team at NHS England would like to thank you for signing up for the Shine a Light on Co-production Event. This event is all about showing what can be achieved when people with lived experience and people who work for the NHS (learnt experience) partner together.

At each event, they share their stories of collaboration, their top tips, what went well, the challenges they faced, and how their cooperation made a difference and led to improvements.

On Tuesday 29 July 2025, 10:30am – Midday We will be joined by:

  • Jo Lomani – Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Expert by Experience, Co-production Advisor & Senior Project Manager
  • Mary Pappin – Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism, Quality Transformation Lead & Organisational Leadership Consultant
  • Leanne Gelder – Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Head of Quality Transformation & Mental Health Nurse

Presenting:

‘Co-production, Lived Experience and Culture Change in Inpatient Mental Health Services: Our journey of working alongside lived experience colleagues in national quality improvement’

This month, the guest speakers will explore how co-production with lived experience expertise has ensured that mental health inpatient quality improvement initiatives place patient experience at the heart of their design. We also aim to demonstrate how integrating team members with lived experience into National teams and senior roles facilitates a rare and innovative level of involvement in contract delivery designs and quality improvement initiatives.
