What is the National Systemwide Paediatric Observations Tracking Programme (SPOT)?

The National Systemwide Paediatric Observations Tracking Programme (SPOT) developed a standardised national Paediatric Early Warning system (PEWS), that was published in November 2023, with the aim of creating a national standard for supplier platforms that facilitates a standardised and interoperable method of tracking and detecting a deteriorating child. This PEW system has initially been designed to be used within an inpatient setting.

What is the purpose of this event?

A National PEWS Beta Digital Specification was created to support the digital implementation of the national PEWS. We would like to run a market engagement event to engage with potential suppliers for NHS Trust early warning scores systems prior to finalising the Beta version of this specification.

This will be a virtual event for suppliers to attend to understand the proposals for digital specifications and outline the key changes in the Beta version. Suppliers will be given the chance to provide insights that will help further shape the tool ahead of the final digital specification being published later this year.
