Payroll Processes Improvement Webinar

26 September 2025 12:00pm – 1:30pmBST (+01:00)
Virtual (Teams)

Following a letter from Amanda Pritchard, Dr Navina Evans and Prof. Stephen Powis in April 2024 and the recent letter from Sir James Mackey and Professor Meghana Pandit on the 10-Point Plan for improving Resident Doctors’ working lives, we are inviting you to join a 90-minute webinar (hosted on MS Teams) as part of the national Payroll Processes Improvement Programme. Building on the success of the Payroll Processes Improvement Intensive Programme 2024, which supported 31 NHS organisations in reducing payroll errors, we now aim to scale best practice, learning, and blueprints across all our NHS provider organisations.

What success looks like

During the pilot programme we saw a 48% reduction in payroll errors, with 5 trusts who received additional intensive support achieving a 72% reduction. Additionally, we saw a £0.6 million reduction in monthly overpayments, which could equate to approx. £7.2 million annually. Upon evaluation, we propose that if this programme was rolled out across ALL NHS organisations in England, we could see £25.2 million reduction in the value of overpayments, this is a striking finding and results in a significant cost avoidance for NHS Trusts.

Check out the Payroll Improvement Futures Collaboration site, where you can find out more information about the resources, guides and toolkits to implement this programme in your trust.

What to expect

To assist you whilst you implement the toolkits and guidance, we are conducting this 12-week online webinar programme, running from August to November 2025. Each Friday we will present a 90-minute webinar, where we will highlight the successes of the pilot programme in 2024, run through the suite of guidance and toolkits developed by NHSE and Deloitte, finally opening for a Q&A session to support specific queries you may have.

Please note you will only need to attend one session.

There are only 40 spaces available per session, book early to ensure availability.

You will receive a Teams invite one day before the webinar is scheduled to take place.
