Unpaid Carers Bi-Monthly Lunch and Learn Webinar: Supporting People with Drug and Alcohol Misuse
You are invited to register for our Unpaid Carers Bi-Monthly Lunch and Learn Webinar: Young Carers Supporting People with Drug and Alcohol Misuse, taking place on Wednesday, 21 January 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
Our online lunch and learn bi-monthly webinars aim to bring together carers and professionals from across the country in an informal atmosphere to collaborate, learn, and drive the identification and support for unpaid carers.
Join Helen Bolt, Family Services Manager and former M-PACT Project Lead at Sheffield Young Carers Project, to explore how addiction in the family affects young people and how they can identify and respond effectively to this often-hidden group.
Drawing on experience of supporting young people impacted by familial substance misuse since 2019, this session shares key learning both from the individual support they offer young people and whole family support through their Family Project and the M-PACT whole-family group programme. Introducing practical tools, including the Finding My Way Workbook.
The session recognises the challenges of breaking down barriers with complex families and highlights the positive impact this can have for children, families, and the wider community. Reducing stigma and increasing confidence that supports earlier identification and more meaningful support.
Please do share with your networks, the agenda and link to webinar will follow later.
Note that registration opens on Thursday 18th December at 5pm and closes on Tuesday 20th January at 5pm.
All webinars are recorded and added to our Commitment to Carers workspace on FutureNHS Collaboration Platform.
