11 February 2026 1:00pm – 3:00pmGMT (+00:00)
Virtual (Microsoft Teams)

This webinar, hosted by the South West NHS England Learning Disability and Autism Programme, aims to explore a holistic approach to respiratory care, in the community, for people with PMLD. We will discuss the impact of personalised pharmacological decision making, good oral health, a multi-disciplinary approach to eating and drinking whilst also considering the importance of 24-hour postural management.

We have the pleasure of welcoming the following speakers:

  • Lorraine Forrester - Dental Nurse and Oral Health Expert, Royal United Hospital
  • Katie Heard - Consultant Pharmacist, University Hospitals Plymouth
  • Jackie Hempkin - Lead Physiotherapist for Learning Disabilities, Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust
  • Michael Walsh - Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust

We welcome anybody with a passion for improving care for people with PMLD by supporting cultural change.

This webinar will continue to build on content covered in our previous event - ‘Exploring how we hear the voices of parent carers and people with PMLD at the end of their life and making difficult decisions'.
