Tackling Vaccinations and Screening health inequalities:

Webinar
Live | 16 April 2026 | 13:00-14:30

Delivered by the Equalities Team, Vaccinations and Screening Directorate, NHSE

Join us for an interactive and informative webinar exploring communication and engagement approaches used with faith leaders and faith communities to help reduce health inequalities in vaccination uptake and cervical cancer screening. Drawing on two nationally commissioned projects, this session will share practical learning on building trust, improving confidence, and supporting informed choice within underserved faith communities. The session will also cover how motivational interviewing approaches were tested on a small scale with faith leaders and communities.

What the Webinar Will Cover

This session will explore how culturally sensitive communication and engagement approaches and motivational interviewing approaches can:

  • Increase understanding of routine childhood vaccination schedule changes
  • Improve confidence in HPV vaccination
  • Support informed uptake of cervical screening
  • Reduce inequalities in access to vaccination and screening services
