Location TBC

We are delighted to invite you to Carers Week 2026.

This year Carers Week will take place between 8th – 14th June 2026 and the theme this year is: “Building Carer Friendly Communities”

We are delighted to be joined by fabulous guest speakers throughout the week, so please join us as we shine a light on the fantastic work happening across our providers, systems and regions.

Join us for an engaging and informative session where we will explore the Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme and how Unpaid Carers are recognised as essential partners in delivering community-based care.

Unpaid carers play a vital role within neighbourhoods, often acting as the link between people, families, communities and services. As the Neighbourhood Health Service (NHS) model develops, there is a clear opportunity to ensure unpaid carers are identified early, recognised consistently, and supported proactivelyas part of integrated neighbourhood working.

The session will:
  • Explore the role of unpaid carers within Neighbourhood Health Services
  • Highlight why recognising and supporting carers is essential to population health, prevention and continuity of care
  • Share practical approaches for working across primary care, community services, local authorities and VCSE partners
  • Consider how neighbourhood teams can identify carers, understand their needs and connect them to support earlier
  • Showcase learning, examples or emerging practice that support carer‑friendly neighbourhoods

You will hear from Emily Holzhausen CBE, Director of Policy and Public Affairs at Carers UK and Carrie McKenzie, Voluntary Partnerships Senior Manager at NHS England.

This session will be chaired by Sian Harris, Experience of Care Policy Lead- Unpaid Carers, NHS England.

Please feel free to share this invitation within your networks. The agenda and joining link will be circulated in due course.

Registration opens on Friday 1st May at 9:00am and closes on Wednesday 10th June at 5:00pm.

All the sessions will be recorded and added to our Commitment to Carers workspace on FutureNHS Collaboration Platform.
