Urgent and Emergency Care Learning and Improvement Network East of England
The East of England Urgent & Emergency Care Learning & Improvement Network brings together clinical, operational and system colleagues to learn from one another and accelerate practical improvements in patient flow and outcomes.
At our previous in-person session, organisations identified improvement actions and developed PDSA tests to take forward locally. Since then, the network has continued to support shared learning through virtual sessions, Lunch and Learns and seed-funded improvement projects.
The October workshop will bring teams back together to examine what has been tested, what has changed and what we are learning across the region.
Our existing focus on improving flow across the UEC pathway will continue, including alternatives to admission, front door flow, frailty and length of stay. The emphasis will be on moving from discussion to practical improvement and identifying what should happen next.
What to expect
This will be a structured and interactive working session. Teams will have the opportunity to:
share progress from local PDSA tests and improvement work
hear approaches and emerging learning from across the region
explore barriers affecting patient flow
identify where successful practice could be adapted or spread
agree practical actions for the next improvement cycle
Who should attend
We particularly welcome colleagues who are able to influence and deliver change, including:
Urgent and emergency care and ED clinical leads
UEC and ED operational leads
Acute medicine and SDEC teams
Nursing leads
Frailty services
Patient flow and discharge teams
Community and virtual ward colleagues
Ambulance service colleagues
Improvement and transformation teams
Multidisciplinary representation is encouraged, recognising that improving UEC flow requires action across organisational and service boundaries.
Places are limited, so please register as soon as possible.
