Violence Reduction Academy Symposium 2026
Please join us for the third annual NHS Violence Reduction Academy Symposium hosted by the NHS London Violence Reduction Programme and Queen Mary University of London. The event will take place on Thursday, 5th November at Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre, London.
The theme for this year's symposium is Critical Trajectories, key moments in life where violence and health may interact. As violence reduction principles are increasingly adopted into our everyday practice in healthcare, it is important that we explore the potential of supporting people exposed to violence across a whole life course, with the goal of a of true public health response to violence in our communities.
This symposium will showcase new evidence and practice in health-based violence reduction service delivery. The day will begin with keynote presentations, followed by a programme of talks, panel discussions, rapid-fire research presentations and small workshops. Four key themes of the day will explore some of the key Critical Trajectories where the NHS plays a crucial role in providing care.
- Maternity and Early Years
- School-Age Health
- Adolescence and Young Adults
- Adults Over 25
Registration for the symposium is free. Lunch and refreshments will also be provided, alongside providing space and opportunity to network with colleagues across different roles and organisations.
