6th National Safeguarding Conference: ‘Reforms to Reality‘

The 6th National Safeguarding Conference provides the opportunity for safeguarding professionals to explore developments in safeguarding through listening to people with lived experience, sharing best practice and exploring with experts the implementation of recent safeguarding reforms. Through this all participants will be able to explore best ways of influencing system transformation across health and care, ensuring safeguarding remains a principle and visible cornerstone of change.

The conference will provide a vital networking opportunity for delegates from across many sectors, people with lived experience and lead professionals working nationally across the whole range of safeguarding priorities. The combination of attendees and activities will ensure the event continues to be thought provoking and inspiring.

Topics for this year will include:

  • Safeguarding legislation including the Working Together child safeguarding reforms, and the Mental Capacity (Amendment) Bill
  • Safeguarding the safeguarders
  • Modern slavery and trafficking
  • Maternity and safeguarding
  • Health and Justice
  • Integrated care systems / safeguarding
  • Safeguarding children and young people in secure and detained environments
  • Domestic violence and abuse

On the day we will also have a vibrant market place, where attendees can engage with specialists from a range of services including:

  • Disclosure and Barring Service
  • CIFAS Friends Against Scams
  • Stop the Traffik
  • Unseen UK
  • Office of the Public Guardian
  • Action Fraud
  • SafeNet
  • National Crime Agency
  • A range of the NHS stalls covering the safeguarding portfolio
