Recognising, respecting and responding to the needs of our NHS people
The Interim People Plan was published on 3 June 2019 and we are expecting publication of the full People Plan later this year. Over the last 6 months, thousands of our NHS people have been sharing views and ideas to support the co-production of the Plan itself, including the development of a Leadership Compact and a Core Offer for all NHS staff. We are now broadening our thinking to also focus on implementation so that when the Plan is published, we have plans to work collaboratively in new and different ways so we can together bring the People Plan’s ambitions to life.
We want to bring a diverse group of people together who are passionate about making a positive change to the culture of the NHS and the experience of our NHS people, and can contribute their ideas and experiences.
An unconference is an event that is planned and facilitated but one with no pre-set agenda. The people participating in the unconference will drive discussions and make all the decisions and recommendations.
The purpose of the unconference is to encourage breakthrough thinking and practical, adoptable ideas that will contribute to a nationwide implementation approach for the People Plan. We would love for you to be part of this important discussion.
This unconference is about creating an unstructured, high-energy environment where our ideas can be amplified and where we can channel the wisdom of all the people in the room. We want the unconference to help us move the People Plan from being a set of expectations to a catalyst for positive improvements, with impact for all of our 1.3 million NHS people.
We want to:
- Generate many ideas and perspectives on changing and improving cultures that can be brought into the implementation strategy once the NHS People Plan is published
- Break down hierarchy and give people taking part the power and freedom to conduct the entire discussion process
- Unleash innovation and creativity and “thinking differently” about how to achieve the gains we want from the People Plan
- Create a community of energised and empowered NHS people who will advocate for the NHS People Plan and lead change
If you have colleagues who you feel would benefit from attending and be able to contribute to the event in a meaningful way, please do feel free to share this invitation with them and encourage them to join us.
Please ensure all dietary requirements and any necessary adjustments are included on your delegate profile.
