BBV ED Opt Out Learn and Share – 2026

NHS England, in partnership with The National Hepatitis C Trust and with sponsorship from Gilead, is proud to host the fifth annual Emergency Department (ED) Blood Borne Virus (BBV) Opt-out Testing Learn and Share event. This event is a fantastic opportunity to bring together colleagues from the first, second, and third wave sites to share insights, celebrate our collective commitment to the project, and drive continued progress. Attendees will hear from senior leaders within NHSE and DHSC on how ED BBV testing is contributing to the government commitment to achieve zero HIV transmissions in England by 2030, explore the latest results, gain valuable insights from teams who have successfully navigated challenges and hear about the vital role voluntary peer and community support has in engaging and retaining people in care.
