Cancer improvement collaborative: Developing an outstanding service with people living with cancer
Welcome to Co-production Week 2025!
Anna, Helen and Mark share their Cancer Experience of Care Improvement Collaborative (CIC) co-production journey focusing on a key driver of experience - administration of care. Anna is the NHS England lead of the ‘CIC’ for the NHS Cancer Programme, which is launching a new CIC Cohort - ‘CIC 7’ at the end of June, 2025.
The CIC provides a quality improvement and coaching framework, which has evolved since its inception in 2019. People affected by cancer join Project teams from around England to co-produce change ideas.
Helen and Mark from St George’s University NHS Foundation Trust, listened to what mattered to people waiting for support around lymphoedema care. Their improvement was to enable access to information and practical approaches to support early self-management to reduce waiting times and improve experiences of care.
Presenters:
- Mark Pearson, MLD Therapist, Paediatric and Primary Lymphoedema Clinic Coordinator, Honorary Research Fellow in Genetics, The Lymphoedema Team, St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- Anna Rarity, Cancer Experience of Care Programme Manager, NHS England
