Leading Change, Adding Value in action

Leading Change, Adding Value is a framework for all nursing, midwifery and care staff. It can be used by everyone, wherever you work and whatever your role.

Care Makers have a key role to promote and role-model how staff can use the framework to close the three gaps identified in the Five Year Forward View - the health and wellbeing gap, the care and quality gap, and the funding and efficiency gap. By encouraging all nurses, midwives and care staff to make change, the outcomes and experiences of those we care for will be improved and staff will make better use of resources to deliver high quality care. The 6Cs remain the value base of the framework and support its use to identify and address unwarranted variation in care - variations in health and care outcomes, patients' experience and use of resources that cannot be justified by reasons of geography, demography or infrastructure.

During November and December 2017, we are delighted to announce a series of Leading Change, Adding Value webinars specifically designed to support care makers in putting the framework into action.

Join us on this webinar series and hear from other staff including care makers who have made changes which address unwarranted variation - these real life examples bring the framework and its application to life.

Webinar 2 The second webinar in this series, 'Leading Change, Adding Value in action' will take place on Thursday 7 December 5pm - 6pm.

This webinar presents an exciting opportunity to:

• Learn about the practical application of the Leading Change, Adding Value framework

• Hear from those using the framework and how they are implementing change in their practice through a Leading Change, Adding Value case study presentation

• Connect with other Care Makers and hear their stories

• Receive a new Care Maker Leading Change, Adding Value pin badge, specifically designed for those Care Makers who are using and promoting the framework in their workplace.

Chairing the event will be Debbie Cromack, Regional Care Maker Co-Ordinator (Yorks, Humber and North East) and Quality, Health and Innovation Lead/Staff Governor, Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust. Debbie will also be sharing her experiences of using the Leading Change, Adding Value framework, as part of the session.  Debbie will be joined by Stacey McCann, Head of Nursing Strategy and Commissioning from the Leading Change, Adding Value team at NHS England. You will also hear from Sally Baker, Practice Nurse, The Old Forge Surgery, Durham how Leading Change, Adding Value has been used to improve outcomes in weight loss by identifying and addressing unwarranted variation in their weight management consultations.

Webinar information will be sent out to delegates closer to the event. This will include sign in details and full instructions on how to access the webinar. However, if you are new to webinars and are looking for a little more support, please do not contact england.leading-change@nhs.net.
