Carers Week 2026- Young Carers Session

We are delighted to invite you to Carers Week 2026.

This year Carers Week will take place between 8th – 14^th June 2026 and the theme this year is: “Building Carer Friendly Communities”

We are delighted to be joined by fabulous guest speakers throughout the week, so please join us as we shine a light on the fantastic work happening across our providers, systems and regions.

Following a welcome and introduction address by Jacqui Pollock Senior Manager – Personalisation, Experience of Care and Carers (North-West Region), please join Maureen Howell and Kelly Hockaday from the Children’s & Education Services at Manchester City Council as they launch Carers Week with an insightful webinar on creating a child friendly city via Manchester Young Carers Partnership.

The session will focus on their aims in supporting young carers:

• Early Identification:Young Carers in Schools and Settings Awards.Young Carer Champions in all settings.
• Access to Opportunities: Equal access to education, leisure, and activities.
• Tailored Support:Pathway, Guides to Support, MACA & PANOC, My Plans and tiered level of support, YCNA.
• Voice & Co-production:Young carers involved in shaping services and strategy.

Registration opens on Friday 1st May at 9:00am and closes on Friday 5th June at 5:00pm.
