CHAT Workshop

Dear Colleagues,

As mentioned a few times at the CHC network meetings, NHS England has been reviewing the CHAT system to make it fit for purpose following recent updates of the National Framework, and to incorporate some of the work of the NHSE Strategic Improvement Programme. 

The priorities within CHAT have changed slightly to incorporate a CHC Enablers section which is derived from the Maturity Matrix you have all been working on recently.   CHAT has a new emphasis as it is now looking very much at how CCGs quality assure their processes.  We expect to launch the new CHAT system in line with the NF on 1^st October 2018.

We will be introducing a programme of assurance linked to CHAT more information about that programme will be sent out soon.  We will need all CCGs to be ready for each cycle of assurance in terms of entering the evidence into CHAT.

I know that since our Deep Dive London CCGs have not all kept up to date with CHAT, and CHAT has been updated ,  therefore I think it is important all CCGs take this opportunity to refresh the training for users, and become familiar with the new content.

Paul Kay from Quiq solutions is running the workshops and he is excellent at answering all of your questions.  He has also suggested that if individuals want to  bring laptops with them, he can check logins in advance.

It is very important that the right people attend these workshops.  If you will be responsible for entering evidence onto CHAT – either in terms of the actual data entry, or importantly as the lead who decides what evidence is relevant, then you should attend if you possibly can.
