This event is for those working with children and young people in the North West, who are autistic, learning disabled or both, who have complex needs that require accommodation outside of the family home.  Accommodation may be in the form of;

  • respite
  • as an alternative to crisis/hospital placement
  • as a step down placement from hospital
  • foster placement
  • residential children’s home

    The event will focus on the Transforming Care agenda for young people aged 0-25 and the gaps around accommodation for this group of young people.   This is an opportunity to hear from housing and care providers, their best practice, service offers and any barriers or gaps that they see in processes.  The event will review pathways and packages for young people under the age of 16 and age 16 – 25 years old.  There will be an opportunity to hear about Capital Grants available to support the development of housing and residential short term accommodation.

    The goal of the event is to aid local authorities and health work to in a more collaborative way with the community private provider sector for the common goal of improving outcomes for complex children and young people who are autistic, learning disabled or both.
