Community Dental Services – reducing variation to improve dental care for the most vulnerable

Liz Jones, GIRFT clinical lead for hospital dentistry is hosting this webinar to discuss the findings and actions following the publication of our new national report supplement on community dental services

The GIRFT national report on hospital dentistry, published September 2021, recommended a clinically-led review of the CDS as unwarranted variation had been recognised during the visits to trusts. An expert steering group was established to progress the recommendations and actions in the national report, and this new supplement details findings on children and vulnerable adult waiting lists, as well as variation in governance arrangements.

This webinar will introduce the CDS supplement, improve the understanding of the CDS and its importance in delivering dental care to the most vulnerable in society and reducing inequalities.  We will also discuss one of the main aims of the supplement, which is raising awareness of the need to improve data capture for the CDS.

We will be joined by speakers from the steering committee who will present on why the CDS is important for paediatric dentistry and special care dentistry. There will also be a presentation on training, education, workforce and governance within the CDS.

The joining link will be sent to you via separate email nearer the event date.
