CPO/DCPO Change Management - Virtual Masterclass

Are you a Chief People Officer or Deputy Chief People Officer leading change across your NHS Trust or system? This executive-level virtual masterclass is designed specifically for senior people leaders responsible for delivering sustainable organisational change in increasingly complex and pressured environments.

As NHS organisations continue to navigate workforce transformation, service redesign, cultural change and system collaboration, the ability to lead change effectively has become a critical strategic capability. This masterclass will equip CPOs and Deputy CPOs with the insight, frameworks and practical approaches needed to lead and sustain meaningful change that delivers measurable organisational improvement.

Programme Focus

This four and a half-hour interactive masterclass explores the realities of leading change at scale within the NHS, recognising that many change programmes fail to achieve sustained performance improvement despite significant investment and effort.

Participants will examine:

  • Why organisational change so often fails to translate into lasting performance improvement
  • The distinction between traditional change management approaches and organisation development (OD)-led transformation
  • The role of senior people leaders in shaping culture, behaviours and system readiness for change
  • How to lead stakeholders through uncertainty, resistance and competing priorities
  • Strategic approaches to communicating change in ways that build trust, alignment and engagement across diverse professional groups
  • Practical methods for sustaining change over time and embedding new ways of working
  • Identifying and overcoming systemic, cultural and operational barriers to change delivery

The masterclass will also revisit critical enablers of successful transformation, including:

  • Aligning strategic workforce planning to transformation priorities
  • Embedding equity, diversity and inclusion as a continuous and integral thread throughout change activity
  • Strengthening organisational resilience, leadership capability and workforce engagement during periods of sustained change

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session, participants will be better able to:

  • Lead complex transformation with greater confidence and strategic clarity
  • Differentiate between transactional change delivery and sustainable organisational development
  • Influence and engage senior stakeholders effectively across organisational and system boundaries
  • Communicate change with credibility and impact
  • Build the conditions required to sustain behavioural and cultural change
  • Address barriers to implementation and maintain momentum through uncertainty
