Data Science Software CPD Forum - SAS

Data Services has established a Continuing Professional Development Forum which be used to engage NHS England and NHS Improvement professionals and allow them to develop and enhance their abilities in Tableau & SAS. The forums will be held on a monthly basis, alternating between Tableau and SAS on a month by month basis.
This is the fourth forum session focusing on the use of SAS software, there will be 30 spaces for the session.
The forum will run for 4 1/2hrs and follow the below agenda:
Welcome from Data Services
10:00-10:15 Ice breaker/Introduction (15 mins)
10:15-10:55 Case study connect session (40 mins, 4 case studies with 10 mins each)
10:55-11:00 Comfort break
11:00-12:00 Interactive topic e.g. Custom formats (1 hr)
12:00-13:00 Lunch break
13:00- 13.40 Afternoon session- group will be split into Beginner and advanced users.
- Advanced Q&A with SAS experts (40 mins)
- Beginners – SAS how to tutorial- try out a function (40 mins) There will be a 10 min video and the you have 30 mins to replicate. We will provide dummy NCDR data
13:40-14:20 Then the groups will switch to the below:
- Advanced how to tutorial – try out a function (40 mins) There will be a 10 min video and the you have 30 mins to replicate. We will provide dummy NCDR data. Or we will provide the group with a problem which needs brainstorming for example ‘How would we data suppression?”
- Beginners Q&A with SAS experts (40 mins)
14:20 :14:30 Feedback and ideas for next session
The aims of these sessions are to enables learning to become conscious and proactive, promote best practice techniques and ideas sharing, all focused for an individual to improve and have effective professional development. Continuing Professional Development is essential in helping individuals, organisations or entire industries to keep skills and knowledge up to date. Providing CPD enables organisations to become a knowledge bank to key stakeholders of your organisation.
