Data Science Software CPD Forum - SAS

This event is only available for NHS England and NHS Improvement colleagues.

Data Services has established a Continuing Professional Development Forum which be used to engage NHS England and NHS Improvement professionals and allow them to develop and enhance their abilities in Tableau & SAS. The forums will be held on a monthly basis, alternating between Tableau and SAS on a month by month basis.

This session we be focusing on the use of SAS software, there will be 30 spaces for the session.

The forum will run for 4 1/2hrs and follow the below agenda:

Welcome from Data Services

10:00 – 10:20:  Introduction session- Welcome/Ice breaker Sarah Blundell & Alex Cheung

10:20 – 10:50: What’s bugging you about SAS Q&A- Bring your issues re speed/coding errors/current stumbling blocks- All colleagues

Break 10:50-10:55

10:55 – 12:30: SAS Demo- (1hr 35 mins)- Peter & Collette

• Preview Enterprise Guide 8.2 & GIT Hub integration
• Comparison of Enterprise guide vs. SAS Studio for programmers / Point and clickers
• The evolution of SAS/Graph procedures - PLOT vs. GPLOT vs. SGPLOT and advanced options like using an annotation data set.

12:30 – 13:00: Networking lunch (30 mins)

13:00- 14:15: Interactive Session (1hr 15 mins) – Creating customised reports styles in EG

• Individually or in small groups review the Tableau style guides and create a NHS style report

14:15 – 14:30: Feedback and suggestions for future sessions (15 Mins) – All
