This event is only available for NHS England and NHS Improvement colleagues.

Data Services has established a Continuing Professional Development Forum which be used to engage NHS England and NHS Improvement professionals and allow them to develop and enhance their abilities in Tableau & SAS. The forums will be held on a monthly basis, alternating between Tableau and SAS on a month by month basis.

This session we be focusing on the use of Tableau software, there will be 30 spaces for the session.

The forum will run for 4 1/2hrs and follow the below agenda:

Welcome from Data Services

10:00-10:15 Ice breaker/Introduction (15 mins)

10:15-10:45 What is Tableau and Why use Tableau?   (30 mins)

10:45-11:45 

Introduction to NHS Visual Data challenge

Storying telling and tableau dashboard construction (4 people in a team)

12:00-12:45 Lunch break (45 mins)

12:45- 13:30 Hands on – dashboard sketch/ wireframe (45 mins)

13:30 - 13:35 Coffee Break (5 mins)

13:35- 14:25  Hands on (20 mins)

14:25- 14:30 Feedback and ideas for next session (15 mins)

The aims of these sessions are to enable learning to become conscious and proactive, promote best practice techniques and idea sharing, all focused for an individual to improve and have effective professional development. Continuing Professional Development is essential in helping individuals, organisations or entire industries to keep skills and knowledge up to date. Providing CPD enables organisations to become a knowledge bank to key stakeholders of your organisation.
