The Demand and Capacity Programme will be hosting a series of webinars over the summer to share good practice on demand and capacity planning for the Covid-19 pandemic looking at the recovery phase and beyond.

There are a lot of challenges facing providers as they re-open elective services, and a lot of questions around how we model capacity and plan to ensure the safety of our patients accessing these services in the coming weeks, month and years.

The fifth in this series of webinars will be hosted by Joe Tansley, Operations Manager from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, who will share his experience of demand and capacity modelling in diagnostics and how he is approaching the challenge of planning in the context of Covid-19.

The webinar will provide a peer support forum to discuss and share how to use the Demand & Capacity models to aid in scoping the impact on your services of reopening in a system under strain. This webinar will not be covering how to use the Demand & Capacity models in detail as the presumption is that you are already familiar with the models. If you aren’t then please familiarise yourself with the core model first: https://www.england.nhs.uk/ourwork/demand-and-capacity/models/demand-and-capacity-core-model/. The latest version of the core model which has been adapted for the recovery phases can be downloaded directly here and accompanying guidance can be found on our Future NHS group.

Please register with your NHS email address to secure your place on the webinar. Details of the webinar will be emailed the day before the session.
