Digital Mental Health Community of Practice
You are invited to the Digital Mental Health CoP meeting , a group with a productivity focus and will bring together local NHS stakeholders to share best practice and learn from each other about improving services with digital technologies.
Using digital technology more effectively is a significant feature of the Ten-Year Plan. We want to move from analogue to digital systems to make mental health support easier to access and more effective. Key policies in Mental Health highlight that digital technology is crucial for major mental health programmes, enabling the NHS to work more efficiently and productively. To support these goals, we invite you to join this Community of Practice Forum to showcase the incredible work that is being undertaken all around the country. This forum provides an opportunity for Mental Health Leads, Digital Leads, Commissioners, and NHS England colleagues to share information, learn from one another, network, and gain a deeper understanding of digital transformation and improving productivity in mental health.
Our upcoming meeting will take place on 20 May 2026 from 13.00 to 14.00. We are delighted to announce that Zoe Seager, Chief Client Officer at Thalamos, will be joining us to present on Mental Health Act Digitisation.
- A practical look at Mental Health Act digitisation across real-world crisis pathways, spanning police, ED, mental health services and local authorities using Thalamos eMHA
- An exploration of where delays, variation and risk emerge within current pathways, and how improved visibility and coordination can support better system flow
- Overview of how digital approaches to the Mental Health Act are supporting more consistent, timely and informed decision-making across organisational boundaries
- Insights from multi-agency deployments, including what has worked, what has been challenging, and how more joined-up approaches to Mental Health Act digitisation are being developed in practice
- A perspective on the role of Mental Health Act digitisation as shared system infrastructure, and its relevance to urgent and emergency care priorities, integration and multi-agency working
- An overview of emerging data from live use, showing how Mental Health Act activity, demand and decision-making are distributed across organisations, and what this reveals about system pressure, coordination and future resourcing demands.
