East of England EIP and PH SMI Workshop

16 February 2022 9:30am – 12:30pmGMT (+00:00)
Virtual (Microsoft Teams)

We know that, if we get it right, we can improve overall well-being outcomes very significantly for people experiencing their first episode of psychosis.

We also know that the life expectancy gap for people with SMI continues to deteriorate, with recent data from 2018-20 highlighting that people with SMI are five-and-a-half times more likely to die prematurely than those without an SMI, due to preventable physical health conditions.

The workshop will look at how we can address the physical health needs of this group of people to the greatest possible effect, drawing on examples of best practice nationally and working with yourselves to identify positive, realistic steps you can make in your organisation to make a real, measurable difference. We will also be using recent data to look at trends and support local improvement plans as a system.

Who is it for?

To get the most out of the webinar we suggest each ICS or STP is represented by community mental health commissioners, primary care mental health leads and providers of both EIP and PH SMI specialist services (NHS and/or VCSE).
