The East of England Respiratory Clinical Network would like to invite you to attend a regional event at Newmarket racecourse to be held on the 11th of October from 9:30am -3:30pm.   

This event is an opportunity for all respiratory professionals from across the region, to reconnect, to understand what our network priorities are and to hear from a range of experts on some examples of best practice, with each topic having a Q&A session with the experts and the network clinical leads.

The outline agenda for the day is as follows:

    • Opening the event - Ellen Makings, Medical Director System Improvement, SRO for the Respiratory Clinical Network
    • How the Clinical Networks can support the region - Clare Panniker, East of England's Regional Director

 

  • 10:30-11:15 - Asthma
    • Introduction to the session – Robin Gore, Chair of the Respiratory Clinical Network’s Asthma Steering Group
    • Implementation of the Sentinel Project and development of Sentinel Plus – Mike Crooks, Consultant Respiratory Physician, NHS Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
    • The environmental impact of inhaled medication - Alex Wilkinson, Respiratory Consultant, Clinical Lead for Respiratory Infection and TB,     East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust 
    • Q&A Panel session led by Robin Gore.
  • 11:15-11:30 – Break
  • 11:30-12:15 - Pulmonary Rehabilitation
    • Introduction to the session – Jonathan Fuld, Clinical Lead for the Respiratory Clinical Network
    • Using routinely collected healthcare record data to manage COPD - Jennifer Quint
    • Q&A Panel Session led by Jonathan Fuld.
  • 12:15-13:30 – Lunch
  • 13:30-14:15 - Diagnostics
    • Introduction to the session – Abigail Moore, Clinical Lead for the Respiratory Clinical Network.
    • MSE diagnostics model - Ruth Barlow, Chair of the Respiratory Clinical Network’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Steering Group
    • Community Diagnostic Centres - Sam Fuller, Deputy Director of Diagnostics, NHS England
    • Q&A Panel led by Abigail Moore.
