EoE Respiratory Network: Learning Disability Respiratory Annual Health Check Webinar
Hosted as part of the East of England Respiratory Network Lunch and Learn Webinar Series.
People with a learning disability often have poorer physical and mental health than other people. This does not need to be the case. It is important that everyone over the age of 14 who is on their doctor's learning disability register has an annual health check. The Annual Health Check is an opportunity for health care professionals, the person with a learning disability and those who support them (if relevant) to review the individual’s physical and mental health.
Therefore, in collaboration with the East of England LeDeR Network, join NHS England East of England Respiratory Network for the first of a series of lunch and learn webinars on the annual health check process for patients with learning disabilities.
In this first webinar we will hear from NHS employers, East of England LeDeR colleagues and a patient's family into the importance of the respiratory annual health check and why respiratory health is important in patients with learning disabilities. We will discover how they have overcome any potential barriers and share best practice to support systems to develop improvements to the learning disability annual health check.
Monday 18th November 2024, 1:00pm - 2:00pm
Speakers include:
- Hilary Tedd - Consultant in respiratory medicine and North East Assisted Ventilation Service
- Patient family – sharing their lived experience of the respiratory annual health check
- Tracey Brennan - Senior Manager, Health Inequalities, Learning Disability and Autism Programme, East of England
The link to join the meeting will be emailed to attendees.
The slides and webinar recording will be sent to all registered delegates post-meeting and will be available to view on the East of England Respiratory Network's NHS Futures site https://future.nhs.uk/EOErespiratorynetwork/groupHome
