Flexible Working Webinar: For Line/Ward Managers

Flexible Working Webinar: Line/Ward Managers (of on-site/patient facing staff)

We know that flexible working is a key enabler to attracting and retaining talent; it allows our people to balance commitments and interests outside work, supports their health and wellbeing and leads to a more positive experience of work and the workplace.  We also know that it can be challenging to support different requests fairly and consistently in a 24-7 service environment.

Our aim with this programme is to equip managers from Trusts within the South West region to better meet the People Plan commitments to deliver flexible working opportunities in all roles.

This is one of 5 tailored bite-size masterclasses for different audiences, which will:

  • draw on the collective knowledge and experience of Timewise working with health and care organisations and in other sectors to demonstrate the ‘art of the possible’ in flexible work
  • highlight existing good practice within the South West region of NHS Trusts and elsewhere
  • equip attendees with the knowledge and confidence to identify opportunities for flex and take action, using the NHSE/Timewise line manager guides to assist with flexible job design

It is 90 minutes long and will include time for interaction, sharing of experiences and challenges across peers. Spaces are limited to 40 per webinar. This session is targeted at managers with responsibility for staff who are physically patient facing - e.g. tied to working in a particular location such as a ward or of those who are community based (i.e. this session won't specifically cover hybrid/home working options).
