GIRFT and BOA webinar: Making best use of updated national pathways for elective orthopaedic surgery

GIRFT programme lead, Professor Tim Briggs, and the President of British Orthopaedic Association, Amar Rangam, are hosting this webinar to discuss how you can make the best use of the recently updated national pathways for elective orthopaedic surgery.

We will be joined by the following specialist societies, who have co-badged the pathways.  The presentations will highlight the key changes that have been made to update the pathways, together with the supporting evidence. There will be an opportunity to ask the panel questions.

• British Hip Society (BHS)
• British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK)
• British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS)
• British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (BOFAS)
• Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH)

We will also hear from three trusts who will share their best practice examples on:

• clinic template standardisation;
• reducing low value follow-up through adoption of the Further Faster Follow-up protocols;
• referral optimisation through specialist triage in MSK interface services.
