GIRFT fellows programme showcase
Since October 2022, the GIRFT Clinicals Fellows programme has undertaken a large variety of projects, mainly focusing on clinical improvement work to support the wider GIRFT programme, such as elective recovery, the elective care improvement and environmentally sustainable healthcare.
This showcase will give you the opportunity to hear from the 2024/25 cohort of GIRFT clinical fellows, presenting valuable insights and prompting discussions in subjects ranging from rationalising tray equipment to decarbonising the elective hip pathway.

Project: Revision total knee arthroscopy - Michael Monaghan, general surgery registrar at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.
Project: Day case lobectomy - Lizzy Ojelade, trauma & orthopaedic surgery registrar at Royal Free London NHSFT.
Project: Elective hub QI project at Chase Farm (Carbon savings associated with changing surgical trends in total knee arthroplasty in England) - Naomi Olagunju, general surgery registrar at Shrewsbury & Telford Hospital NHS Trust.
Project: GIRFT in general surgery - Prakriti Shrestha, critical care registrar at Manchester University NHSFT.
