GIRFT webinar: Addressing unwarranted variation in pancreatic cancer services
Addressing unwarranted variation in pancreatic cancer services
GIRFT’s joint clinical leads for pancreatic cancer, Professor Daniel Palmer and Dr Ganesh Radhakrishna, along with former joint clinical leads Professor Keith Roberts, Dr Raneem Albazaz and Claire Pearce, are hosting this webinar to share the findings from their review of pancreatic cancer services in England.
The GIRFT review began in 2023, supporting the delivery of the Optimal Care Pathway, a Pancreatic Cancer UK-led initiative to improve standards of diagnosis, treatment and care of those with pancreatic cancer and their families.
Working with 23 pancreatic cancer networks, GIRFT’s clinical leads found significant variation in practice and outcomes. In this webinar, they will present their findings on:
- streamlining specialist MDTs, diagnostic pathways and pathology;
- boosting surgical resection rates;
- ensuring access to specialist HPB oncology;
- nursing and care coordination;
- managing pancreatic failure; and
- data collection and coding.
They will discuss how adoption of best practice and collaborative working can address unwarranted variation and lead to improved patient experience and outcomes.
The joining link will be shared with you nearer the event date.
