Delivering community MSK Clinical Appointment Days (CADs)

Hosted by Andrew Bennett, GIRFT national clinical lead for community MSK, and consultant physiotherapist Sutton Health and Care, Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust, this webinar will update you on the progress of the GIRFT MSK community programme and discuss the delivery of Community Appointment Days (CADs).

The Community Appointment Days (CADs) initiative aims to introduce a new model of care supporting people to better manage their own health and determine appropriate next steps for treatment, placing greater emphasis on having conversations rather than traditional consultations.

We are delighted to be joined by Jean King, deputy director – health division, Joint Work and Health Directorate, who will reflect on her visit to a CAD in Cornwall. We will also hear from the following speakers, sharing their experiences of CADs and reflecting on lessons learned:

  • Laura Finucane, expert clinical advisor, consultant physiotherapist, strategy and innovation team, St Georges University London on setting up CADs in Sussex ICB
  • Matthew Harrison, first contact physiotherapy lead at Homerton Healthcare Trust on experiences from the City and Hackney health and wellbeing day
  • Sam Wilson, deputy programme of care lead for planned care and cancer, NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly ICB, on lessons learned from delivering CADs in Cornwall
  • Chloe Stewart, National Clinical Advisor Personalised Care/MSK, Primary Care, Community, Vaccination and Screening and Georgi Daluiso-King, personalised care lead MSK, Sussex MSK, on implementing CAD and the key principles behind the model

You will receive the joining link separately via email prior to the event.
