Histopathology metrics in PQAD: definition and data submission
Join this lunchtime webinar for PQAD submitters, covering histopathology metrics only. The session will clarify definitions, inclusion criteria, and common issues to support consistent submissions ahead of monthly turnaround time reporting.
Histopathology metrics in PQAD: Definition and Data Submission
With the announcement of monthly publication of histopathology turnaround time (TAT) data on the NHS England website, NHS England will begin publishing monthly 10-day histopathology TAT performance at national, regional, ICB, and NHS Trust level.
These publications will appear at NHS England website alongside existing Community Diagnostic Centre and imaging asset count publications, and will include transparency on data completeness.
This lunchtime webinar provides a focused, practical refresher for colleagues responsible for submitting histopathology data via PQAD.
The session will concentrate solely on histopathology metrics within PQAD, clarifying:
- when the clock starts and stops
- what should and should not be included
- how to submit data as consistently, accurately, and timely as possible
The aim is to reduce variation in interpretation, build confidence in submissions, and support high-quality, comparable data returns across all services.
This session is intended as a supportive refresher, rather than a forum to review or redesign PQAD metrics.
Who is this Webinar for?
This session is aimed at PQAD submitters and operational teams involved in compiling and returning histopathology data.
What you’ll learn
By the end of the session, participants will:
- Understand which histopathology metrics are included in PQAD and how they are defined
- Be clear on which data points should and should not be included in histopathology submissions
- Gain confidence in completing the PQAD template accurately and consistently
- See where to find a suite of supporting documents for PQAD data submission on NHS Futures
