Improving Recovery outcomes in IAPT Services

This tried and tested day of training looks to ensure that the workforce are confident in determining the appropriate problem descriptors and are making use of the range of disorder specific rating scales. The training explores ways in which IAPT staff can confidently apply the right therapy approach to the relevant presentation and can distinguish between conditions that can be helped by IAPT treatment and those that often fail to reach non-caseness.

The training also explores ways in which staff can enhance recovery data by utilising the PHQ9 and GAD 7 better.

Finally, the training looks to explore how workers can enhance their recovery rates with those clients who have previously struggled with an IAPT approach or who have become stuck. This is achieved by introducing the addition of a session exploring Functional Analysis.

Who is the training aimed at?

The training is suitable for IAPT workers who carry out assessments and make decisions regarding problem descriptors. All IAPT staff who occasionally find that clients reach a place of hiatus or stuck -ness will also benefit from the days training.
