Improving First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP) services: the GIRFT handbook and FCP improvement programme

Hosted by Andrew Bennett, GIRFT community MSK clinical lead, and Andy Saunders, GIRFT community MSK clinical advisor for First Contact Practice this webinar will discuss the soon to be published FCP handbook.

First Contact Physiotherapists play a key role in ensuring patients receive timely specialist assessment, advice and management, helping people access the most appropriate care while supporting integrated musculoskeletal pathways.

This practical resource has been developed to support those responsible for commissioning, providing or leading FCP services, to enable FCP services to deliver high quality, safe and effective care. Through practical checklists and supporting resources, it aims to help systems strengthen governance, improve integration, and support high-quality, consistent care.

We will be providing an overview of the forthcoming FCP improvement strategy and how FCP services/providers can apply to become early adopters of this work and receive targeted support for FCP improvement.

We will also be joined by Professor Julian Barratt, head of Centre for Advancing pPractice, NHS England who will summarise the work and updates to the MSK roadmap to practice document.

The joining link will be sent to you by separate email nearer the event.
