The South West Mental Health Clinical Network would like to invite you to the Individual Placement Support (Wave 1 and Wave 2 Networking Event which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 25th June 2019. This is a free event.

Vocational rehabilitation forms part of the Early Intervention in Psychosis access and waiting standard, and forms part of NICE recommended treatment.  Individual Placement and Support is an evidence-based approach to providing employment support for people experiencing serious mental health problems. 

This interactive and informative one-day networking event is aimed at anyone involved in the delivery, management and reporting of the implementation and expansion of IPS services across the South West region. As well as existing non-Wave 1 and Wave 2 sites, this will include CCG commissioning managers, IPS Providers’ Services Staff (delivery and management), Clinical Team Staff, Community Mental Health Teams, Primary Care Leads, Public Health England and Health Education England.

We are pleased to announce that Calvin Silvester, Individual Placement Support, Grow Regional Lead - South West, will be joining us alongside members of the National Team and representatives from Wave 1 Centres of Excellence. Full programme to follow.

Calvin has worked as a Practitioner, Team Lead and Implementation Manager in IPS Employment Services in both the NHS and the Third Sector. For the last year he has worked as a Freelance IPS Consultant and Trainer supporting NHS Trusts, Charities, Social Enterprises and Local Authorities to develop high fidelity IPS services, as well as being a Fidelity Reviewer and Trainer of the “Doing What Works IPS Training and Employer Engagement” training for the Centre for Mental Health. Calvin is now working with Social Finance as the IPS Grow Lead for the South West.

Outcomes:

  • An introduction to the South West Clinical Network
  • An understanding of the National and regional approach to IPS
  • Introduction to the new IPS Grow Regional Lead and support offer
  • Gain an understanding data and terminology
  • Understand the challenges and difficulties faced by Wave 1 Centre of Excellence sites
  • Hear the expectations from Wave 2 sites
  • A platform where needs and challenges can be discussed and how we can learn from each other and come together to form a local IPS Network
