Introduction and aim

Through November 2020 to April 2021 we are hosting a series of sessions around inequalities in accessing palliative care.  Facilitated by Jane Ashworth, Head of Education, Springhill Hospice and Jude Holt, Head of Practice Development, St Ann’s Hospice the aim of our first session is to provide insights into the palliative and end of life care needs of the homelessness and those who use substances.

Who should attend?

Health, social and voluntary workforces within Greater Manchester and Eastern Cheshire and nationally.




Session 1 and 2 on November 11 will cover

  • Homelessness and palliative care
  • Substance use and associated behaviours

Session 3 and 4 on December 2 will cover

  • Primary care and hospice services
  • Greater Manchester bereavement

Session 5 and 6 on January 27 will cover

  • Dementia
  • Conditions other than cancer

Session 7 and 8 on February 24 will cover

  • Mental health
  • Prisons

Session 9 and 10 on March 24 will cover

  • BAME communities
  • Travelling communities and personalised care

Session 11 and 12 on April 21 will cover

  • Learning disabilities
  • LGBTQ+
