Introducing the GIRFT CYA diabetes workstream – reducing variation and improving outcomes

Dr Fulya Mehta GIRFT Clinical lead for CYA diabetes and Dr Dita Aswani, GIRFT Clinical advisor for CYA diabetes are hosting this webinar to introduce the new GIRFT CYA diabetes workstream.

GIRFT is working with the NHS Diabetes Programme on a national review of services.  The workstream aims to tackle variation in care and outcomes between and within Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) in England, working to identify challenges and opportunities, and developing recommendations for improvement. A particular focus is on reducing health inequalities for CYA, including in access to technology, transition from paediatric to adult services and workforce.

This webinar will give you an overview of the workstream, its background and how by tackling variation, we can achieve better outcomes for children and young adults living with diabetes.

We will be joined by the following speakers:

  • Dr Fulya Mehta, GIRFT clinical lead for CYA diabetes, national clinical lead for diabetes in Children and Young People, NHSE
  • Dr Dita Aswani, GIRFT Clinical advisor for CYA diabetes
  • Professor Gerry Rayman, GIRFT joint clinical lead for diabetes
  • Professor Partha Kar, GIRFT joint clinical lead for diabetes, NHSE GIRFT Type 1 diabetes and technology lead
  • Lucy Holmes, strategy lead, national diabetes programme at NHSE
  • Emma Page, GIRFT workstream delivery manager
