In October 2018, NHS England published the document “Towards commissioning for workplace compassion: a support guide”.

The guide describes the importance of compassion in the workplace, why NHS commissioners might commission for workplace compassion and includes case studies of good practice in moving towards workplace compassion in NHS organisations. It also covers patients’ perspective of staff experience and how patients and staff can work together to improve experience of care for all.

NHS England has now produced a pack of FREE resources to help NHS organisations to support positive staff experience and make compassion in the workplace a reality.

The pack includes:

  • Workshop exercises
  • Film clips
  • PowerPoint slides with notes for presenters
  • Infographics                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  These are practical ready to go resources, designed for you to pick up and use, or tailor to your needs.  You will leave the event with a copy of the resource pack fully equipped to use it in your workplace.  This event is perfect for HR and OD speciialists, Patient Experience leads, and local TU representatives.   A special theme of the day is supporting staff and patient experience colleagues to work together as staff and patient experience are two sides of the same coin. If possible, we encourage you to attend the event as a team to get the most out of the day.

Please note a light lunch will be provided.
