The Learning Disability Mortality review (LeDeR) programme is reviewing all deaths of people with a learning disability aged 4 and over to:

  • Identify what works well to support people with learning disabilities to live long and healthy lives.
Identify factors which may have contributed to deaths of people with learning disabilities so that changes can be made to reduce the impact of these factors.
  • Develop plans of action to make any necessary changes to health and social care services for people with learning disabilities.

The Learn & Share events aim to bring together people who are interested in the LeDeR programme and to consider its impact on addressing wider health inequalities of people with learning disability.

You will hear about the emerging themes and recommendations, hear from local areas and how they are affecting change as a result of the LeDeR programme, the experience of reviewers and NHS Trusts. There will be opportunities to discuss issues and exchange ideas to ensure that LeDeR affects positive change for people with a learning disability and their families.
