The Learning Disabilities Mortality Review (LeDeR) Programme was established as a result of one of the key recommendations of the Confidential Inquiry into the premature deaths of people with learning disabilities (CIPOLD). A major part of the LeDeR Programme is to support  local areas in England with reviews of deaths of people with learning disabilities.

Aims of the training

  • Provide a background and understanding of the LeDeR Programme
  • Equip attendees to be able to undertake reviews
  • Show attendees how to use the secure Web-based platform
  • To provide an opportunity to meet other reviewers and Local Area contacts.

The training will enable reviewers to identify potentially avoidable factors that may have contributed to a persons death, and develop plans of action that will guide necessary changes in health and social care services in order to reduce premature deaths of people with learning disabilities.
