Measles Epidemiology and Outbreak Response

Thursday 21 May 13:00 - 15:00

Are you involved in measles outbreak preparedness or response?

This two-hour webinar brings together NHS and UKHSA experts to share learning from recent measles outbreaks and strengthen system-wide readiness, with a particular focus on acute trust settings.

The session will cover:

  • the current epidemiological picture
  • the national immunisation strategy
  • measles public health case management

It will also provide clinical guidance on pathways, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), and occupational health, with real outbreak examples shared throughout. The webinar will conclude with a panel Q&A session.

Who should attend

This session is relevant to professionals involved in outbreak preparedness and response, including regional NHS and UKHSA Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) teams, Situation and Incident Teams (SITs), On-call Public Health Incident Coordinators (OPICs), Health Protection Teams (HPTs), and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs).

NHS Trust staff are also encouraged to attend, particularly those working in microbiology, IPC, and occupational health, as well as clinicians in emergency departments, infectious diseases, paediatrics and maternity services. The content will also be relevant to primary care professionals and community IPC leads.

Part of a wider webinar series

This webinar is the first of three closely related sessions:
