Engagement events on the long term plan for the NHS with Simon Stevens, Chief Executive of NHS England, and Ian Dalton, Chief Executive of NHS Improvement

On 18 June, the Prime Minister set out a funding settlement for the NHS in England for the next five years. In return, the NHS has been asked to develop a long term plan, setting out our ambitions for improvement over the next decade, and our plans to meet them over the five years of the funding settlement.

Over the summer, working groups have been bringing together local and national system leaders, partners and stakeholders to develop and seek a broad range of views on policy proposals to inform the final plan.

We have been clear throughout that this plan will only work if it benefits from the expertise, realism and ambition of those who lead it at local level, as well as the patients we serve. So as we enter the next stage of the process and make decisions about the phasing and priorities need to be made, we would once again value the opportunity to discuss the emerging plans from the working groups with you and colleagues to help inform the final stages of the plan’s development.

These events are for Chief Executives, Medical and Nursing Directors from Provider Trusts and CCGs and CCG Accountable Officers and Clinical Leads.

We are holding two events to try and ensure that colleagues from all parts of the country can participate. If you would prefer to attend the event in York, please follow this link to register for the York event:

Monday 29 October - York Racecourse, York

Registration for both events will be at 10.30am with the day finishing at 3.30pm.
