Engagement events on the long term plan for the NHS with Simon Stevens, Chief Executive of NHS England, and Ian Dalton, Chief Executive of NHS Improvement

On 18 June, the Prime Minister set out a funding settlement for the NHS in England for the next five years. In return, the NHS has been asked to develop a long term plan, setting out our ambitions for improvement over the next decade, and our plans to meet them over the five years of the funding settlement.

Over the summer, working groups have been bringing together local and national system leaders, partners and stakeholders to develop and seek a broad range of views on policy proposals to inform the final plan.

We have been clear throughout that this plan will only work if it benefits from the expertise, realism and ambition of those who lead it at local level, as well as the patients we serve. So as we enter the next stage of the process and make decisions about the phasing and priorities need to be made, we would once again value the opportunity to discuss the emerging plans from the working groups with you and colleagues to help inform the final stages of the plan’s development.

This system leader engagement event will begin with registration at 10.30am for 11.00am, and run until 3.30pm. Due to capacity restrictions registration is on a first come, first served basis. This invitation is for:
