Diabetes is a key priority within NHS Long Term Plan which sets out how the NHS will strengthen its work around prevention, treatment and management of diabetes.
The theme of the conference is diabetes treatment and care. We would like to use this years’ conference as an opportunity to share the work around diabetes transformation projects and how sites have gone on to achieve good outcomes for patients and sustain the provision of care locally.
This free event is aimed at clinicians, managers and representatives from STPs/ CCGs, Primary Care, Secondary and Community Health Services, Public Health, Community Pharmacy and patients with an interest in Diabetes across Midlands.
We are pleased to confirm that the key note presentation will be given by Prof. Jonathan Valabhji, National Clinical Director for Obesity & Diabetes. The Midlands Diabetes Conference 2020 will provide an opportunity to hear about the following aspects:
- Updates on the diabetes priorities within the NHS Long Term Plan
- Update on the work of Diabetes UK
- Presentations from STPs, primary, community and secondary care colleagues sharing examples of best practice in implementing the diabetes transformation projects around multi-disciplinary diabetic foot care team, diabetes inpatient care, structured education and three treatment targets.
