Midlands & East Regional Patient Safety Conference

NHS England Midlands & East is excited to announce that the Patient Safety Conference will be held on 1^st March 2018 at Leicester Racecourse. This event will celebrate the successes and benefits of Patient Safety and Serious Incident Networks across the Midlands and East.

The Conference is aimed at both Providers and Commissioners of Health across the Region, including: Acute, Community, Mental Health, Primary Care, Health & Justice, Ambulance Services, Social Care and Specialised Commissioning.

The event will focus on learning from adverse events and reducing harm, embedding lessons learnt from Serious Incidents and Never Events as well as sustaining the change and focusing on the next stage of quality improvement. 

We hope that this will be an inspirational day to engage those responsible for patient safety across the patch.

Confirmed speakers include:

• Dr Suzette Woodward, National Director of Sign Up to Safety campaign - Suzette will present tips for creating a safety and learning culture by using relationships, connections and people
• Nichola Crust, National Investigator, Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch - Nichola will provide insight into work undertaken by HSIB since its establishment in April 2017
• Lauren Mosley, Head of Patient Safety Implementation, NHS Improvement - Lauren will provide a national update on the work around patient safety agenda from NHSI
• Kathryn Walton, Patient Representative - Kathryn will share her personal experience of care following a Serious Incident, focusing on the impact of human factors.

The event will include a variety of workshops in the afternoon and Market Place throughout the day.

When registering on the event please ensure you select your preferred 3 workshops out of 6 sessions available: A, B, C, D, E or F.

If you and your organisation wish to showcase any work around patient safety and service improvements made following incidents that have occurred, you can do so by contributing to our Market Place on the day.
