Join us for the launch of the National Female Genital Mutilation Support Clinics (NFGMSC)

Join us on Thursday 12th September 2019 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm for the National Launch of the National FGM Support Clinics (NFGMSCs). The NFGMSC holistic community-based clinics will offer a range of support services delivered by a multi-disciplinary team including; physical assessments and treatment (including deinfibulation if required), counselling, safeguarding information and access to FGM Health Advocate. There will be onward support to a specialist Consultant if additional management is required. The clinics will be located across each of the regions: North of England, Midlands and East, London and the South region.

While the FGM Enhanced Dataset shows the majority of women with FGM who access NHS services are aged between 25 – 35 years and are engaged through maternity services, we recognise a need to provide support to the FGM affected population throughout their life-course. In particular, we wish to support younger women (18 – 25 years) and also those women who might have long-standing and chronic health concerns outside of pregnancy.

The NFGMSC clinics will also provide a much needed way for us to research ways to improve the lives and services of all women living with FGM.

They will each run either weekly or fortnightly on walk-in, self-referral and referral basis.

PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE NATIONAL LAUNCH OF THESE NATIONAL FGM SUPPORT CLINICS.
